Trademarks and affiliations

Last updated October 5, 2026

Cobalt Simulations is an independent developer of a flight-simulation companion. This notice says who we are not partnered with, and which names we do not own.

1. Independent product

Cobalt Companion, Cobalt Bridge, Cobalt Peak, and cobaltsim.com are products of Cobalt Simulations. We are not a division, official client, authorized partner, sponsor, or joint venture of any simulator publisher, online network, chart provider, airline, or aircraft developer.

2. No affiliation or partnership

Cobalt Simulations is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with:

  • VATSIM or VATSIM Inc.
  • IVAO (International Virtual Aviation Organisation).
  • Microsoft Corporation, Xbox Game Studios, or Asobo Studio, in connection with Microsoft Flight Simulator or MSFS.
  • Laminar Research, in connection with X-Plane.
  • Navigraph, SimBrief, ChartFox, SkyVector, or AirNav.
  • Discord, Giphy, Stripe, or Apple, beyond the ordinary terms of a customer, developer, or App Store listing.
  • Any airline, airport authority, or aircraft or add-on developer.

Naming a product, showing publicly available network data, or saying a feature works alongside that product means compatibility or identification only. It does not mean we are their partner, that they approve Cobalt, or that Cobalt is an official app for that network or simulator.

3. Trademarks we do not own

Microsoft Flight Simulator, MSFS, Xbox, X-Plane, VATSIM, IVAO, Navigraph, SimBrief, and the other names in this notice are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Cobalt Simulations does not own those marks, does not claim a trademark registration in them, and does not present them as Cobalt brands. All other product, network, airline, airport, and company names in the app and on this site belong to their respective owners.

Apple, the App Store, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Offering Cobalt on the App Store does not make Cobalt an Apple partner beyond Apple’s standard developer terms.

4. Public network data

Live traffic and controller information from VATSIM and IVAO comes from those networks’ public data services. We are not those networks. Their rules still apply when you fly online. We do not receive your VATSIM or IVAO password.

5. Marks Cobalt uses for its own software

The Cobalt name, the dart mark, and the Companion, Bridge, and Peak names, as used for this software, are used by Cobalt Simulations. Nothing on this page assigns those names to anyone else, and nothing here assigns anyone else’s marks to us.
