End User License Agreement
Last updated September 11, 2026
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) licenses Cobalt Companion (the “App”) and Cobalt Bridge (“Bridge”) from Cobalt Simulations. It is in addition to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If you obtained the App from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of those App Store terms.
1. License grant
Subject to this EULA and the Terms of Use, Cobalt grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
- Install and use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as Apple’s usage rules allow.
- Install Bridge on personal computers you own or control, solely to accompany civilian flight-simulator software you are licensed to run, and only for the number of seats your Peak (or free) entitlement allows.
All rights not granted are reserved. This EULA does not sell the software. Title remains with Cobalt Simulations and its licensors.
2. What the software does
The App displays a live map, logbook, systems, community, and related companion features. Bridge reads Microsoft Flight Simulator or X-Plane on your PC and talks to the App on your LAN, or through Relay if you have Peak. Core Companion features may be used without Peak. Peak, sold on cobaltsim.com, unlocks additional features described on the Peak page (remote systems, live camera, Relay, extra history, ATC messaging through your network client, additional Bridge seats). Demo mode simulates a flight with no sim connected.
3. Peak and Bridge seats
Bridge activation codes are licensed, not sold. Default Peak seat count is three PCs. You may not rent, share, publicly post, or sell a code. We may audit unusual device counts and revoke a code that has been leaked.
4. Restrictions
- No copying, modifying, translating, or distributing the App or Bridge except for a backup of your own copy.
- No reverse engineering, decompiling, or circumventing license, Relay, or payment checks, except to the extent a law cannot be waived.
- No using the software to operate, control, or navigate a real aircraft, drone, or vehicle.
- No removing proprietary notices or “not affiliated” attributions.
- No running Bridge as a public hosted service for other people’s simulators.
- No attempting to extract Navigraph, VATSIM, IVAO, or other third-party data through Cobalt beyond what those services permit you.
5. Third-party components and data
The App may display data from VATSIM, IVAO, SimBrief, Navigraph, weather (METAR) sources, and your simulator. Those services have their own licenses. Local Network permission is used to find Bridge. Photos, calendar, and Face ID are used only as described in the Privacy Policy. Giphy GIFs remain Giphy’s. Apple frameworks (MapKit, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, StoreKit, AVFoundation, AuthenticationServices) are used under Apple’s terms; we do not bundle third-party SDKs in the iOS app beyond those system frameworks.
6. Updates
We may provide updates that you must install to keep using the software. Bridge and the App are versioned separately; mismatched versions may not connect. We do not guarantee that old simulators or OS versions will remain supported.
7. Support
Support is commercially reasonable via cobaltsim.com/support and reports@cobaltsim.com. We do not guarantee response times. If you downloaded the App from Apple, Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
8. Apple App Store terms
In the event of a failure of the App to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the App Store purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product-liability claims, legal or regulatory claims, consumer-protection claims, or intellectual-property infringement claims. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA; upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary.
9. Export
You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the software except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the software was obtained. Companion declares only standard/exempt encryption as used by HTTPS and WSS.
10. Termination
This license ends if you breach it, delete the software, or we discontinue the product. On termination you must stop using the App and Bridge and delete copies in your possession. Sections on ownership, restrictions, disclaimer, liability, Apple terms, export, and governing law survive.
11. Disclaimer and liability
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” Disclaimers and liability limits in the Terms of Use apply to this EULA. The software is not for real-world flight operations. Charts, traffic, and systems readouts can be wrong.
12. Governing law
Same as the Terms of Use: laws of the United States, with mandatory consumer protections preserved, and Apple’s App Store terms where they apply to App Store downloads.
